If Paxman gives flaky television a lecturing, don’t spare the BBC

On a good day, journalists like to pick up the phone, corner somebody on the
end of the line and, in an attempt to extract information, mug up an
impersonation of Jeremy Paxman. Regardless of how ridiculous what follows

not only of reporters but of the public, a combative integrity that commands
respect. After all, such is the Paxman brand that a first name is not
required to identify him.
